Pyogenic Granuloma

  by Dr. Yiannis Neofytou

Pyogenic Granuloma

A pyogenic granuloma is an overgrowth of a large number of tiny blood vessels in the skin. It is neither an infection, meaning it is not contagious, nor is it skin cancer. Most of the time, the reasons for its appearance are not known, but it seems that it can occur after a minor skin injury (cut, pricked by a thorn). It is more common in children and adolescents, but can occur at any age. Pyogenic granulomas are painless, red, nodular formations (collections of small blood vessels), which may crust over their surface after bleeding. They grow rapidly during the first few days, but after a few weeks they tend to stabilize. Their main characteristic is that they bleed easily, even after minor injuries.

MESOPEN

Mesopen is an alternative form of mesotherapy. It helps the penetration of active substances, creating portals of entry into the skin barrier with the creation of controlled micronulls, thanks to its specially designed head (pen with 12 tiny titanium pins), without obvious skin injury. Through this mechanism of action, the penetration capacity of the active substances increases.
