What is digital mole mapping?
Mole mapping involves digitally imaging the moles (olives) using a special medical camera and analyzing them with the help of a special software program. With mole mapping and systematic control, the change in moles compared to the past is observed at any time.
The advantages of mole mapping are:
Detailed record of moles.
Early detection of new moles. The results of the mapping are saved and can be compared at future reviews, providing information on possible changes to existing moles.
Grading of risk by analysis of their digital image and comparative evaluation during their monitoring. In cases where a lesion is considered “suspicious”, surgical removal and histological examination are recommended.
It is a painless and safe diagnostic technique, without radiation.
