Warts are caused by an infection of the body by specific strains of the HPV virus, also known as the human papillomavirus, causing the rapid proliferation of skin cells.

This results are benign bumps, which are highly contagious, unsightly, but not dangerous.

How they are transmitted

– By direct skin contact

– By touching wet surfaces

In which parts of the body can they appear

Depending on the type of virus, the warts develop in different parts of the body. However, warts usually appear on the palms, soles and face, but can potentially affect any part of the skin.

Treatment

– Topical use of chemical agents

– Laser removal

– Surgical removal

– Cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen
