Parched skin syndrome (ab ingne erythema or EAI)

  by Dr. Yiannis Neofytou

Parched skin syndrome (ab ingne erythema or EAI) has a few names associated with it, such as hot water bottle rash, fire stains, laptop thigh.Although not considered a burn, parched skin syndrome is caused by prolonged or repeated exposure of the skin to heat or infrared radiation, mild to moderate.

Specific causes may include hot water bottles or radiators for pain relief, exposure to a laptop (such as a battery or fan), and fireplaces. Other causes include car seat heaters, heated chairs and blankets, sauna zones and everyday household appliances such as space heaters or even the kitchen / oven.

Treatment

Medically, the most important step is the immediate elimination of the heat source. For example, if you use car heaters, turn off the heat completely if you can. Otherwise, lower the temperature as much as possible. Medical help is especially important when there are signs of infection, increased pain, redness, swelling, fever or discharge. In this case, antibiotics and pain medications will most likely be prescribed by a doctor. People who have the aforementioned problems with their diagnosis are encouraged to visit their doctor or dermatologist.

Otherwise, the skin should return to normal in a few weeks.

MESOPEN

Mesopen is an alternative form of mesotherapy. It helps the penetration of active substances, creating portals of entry into the skin barrier with the creation of controlled micronulls, thanks to its specially designed head (pen with 12 tiny titanium pins), without obvious skin injury. Through this mechanism of action, the penetration capacity of the active substances increases.
