What it is: It is a viral skin condition, transmitted by infected goats and sheep, and caused by Pox-virus.
How it manifests itself and what is its course: It is an auto-infectious disease, within 35 days.
The lesion is usually solitary. A papule appears in a red periphery, while in the center it is whitish, thus giving a target image. The lesion initially oozes serum, but eventually the lesion dries, thickens and eventually falls off.
How it is treated: Therapeutic antibiotics are given for any infections.
