At least half of all nail disorders are caused by onychomycosis, the most common nail disease in adults. The elderly, in particular, are more likely to have onychomycosis than younger people and children. Fungal infection of the nails (both on the hands and feet) is caused by a germ that invades the nail bed. Onychomycosis causes the nails to become very thick, hard, to change color, to deform their shape and to break much more easily.
Oral or topical antifungal medication is the classic traditional treatment for onychomycosis.

Mesopen is an alternative form of mesotherapy. It helps the penetration of active substances, creating portals of entry into the skin barrier with the creation of controlled micronulls, thanks to its specially designed head (pen with 12 tiny titanium pins), without obvious skin injury. Through this mechanism of action, the penetration capacity of the active substances increases.
