by Dr. Yiannis Neofytou

Infantile Hemangiomas
Hemangiomas are the most common benign tumors of infancy. They appear more often in infants with a history of prematurity, in girls (2-3 times more often than boys) and in infants of multiple pregnancies. What are the possible complications of hemangiomas?
Hemangiomas can cause a disturbance in vital functions of the body (eg a hemangioma near the eyelid can affect vision). They may also experience bleeding and infection. However, the psychological burden that a hemangioma can cause to the parents or the child itself should not be overlooked. What is the treatment for hemangiomas:
A. Topical treatment with propranolol
B. Laser treatment
Laser treatment is performed in specialized centers by doctors who have experience in the specific subject

Mesopen is an alternative form of mesotherapy. It helps the penetration of active substances, creating portals of entry into the skin barrier with the creation of controlled micronulls, thanks to its specially designed head (pen with 12 tiny titanium pins), without obvious skin injury. Through this mechanism of action, the penetration capacity of the active substances increases.
