Herpes on the ear, in the eye, on the nose
These are viral inflammations due to the shingles virus and its reactivation a few years after the disease of chickenpox. Herpes on the ear, eye and nose can also be caused by the herpes simplex type HSV-1. After recovering from chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in the body and reactivates when its defenses become significantly weaker. Those who have a weak immune system due to fatigue or illness (cancer, lymphoma), due to HIV disease, due to taking immunosuppressive drugs are at greater risk.
Diagnosis
The diagnosis of herpes in the nose and ear can be made either by an ENT or by a dermatologist, while the diagnosis of herpes in the eye can be made by an ophthalmologist and a dermatologist.
