Atopic Dermatitis in children
Redness, itching ,rashes and severe discomfort are the main features of atopic dermatitis in children. It is a chronic skin condition that many children and adults face. Itching can be excruciating for infants and young children and affect their overall quality of life. Even sleep at night is affected, as many children wake up at night. With proper practices we can relieve infants and children who have atopic dermatitis.
What is atopic dermatitis?
Atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema is a common chronic inflammation of the skin, with flares and relapses.
Atopic dermatitis has a genetic background, but this does not mean that there is a single responsible gene. Children with atopic dermatitis are born with a genetic predisposition that is influenced by a combination of factors, such as exposure to environmental stimuli and disruption of the skin barrier, resulting in the condition.
Due to the common allergic background, children with atopic dermatitis may also experience symptoms of atopic rhinitis or asthma.
Treatment for atopic dermatitis:
There is no radical and permanent treatment as it is a chronic skin condition. The goal of treating atopic dermatitis is to reduce itching and redness, so the disease is in remission so that the child does not suffer.
