Actinic Keratosis
Actinic keratosis is called actinic or solar keratosis because it is due to the effect of solar radiation on the skin.
Initially, they appear as very small plaques that grow slowly and we feel them more than we see them. They appear in parts of the body that are exposed to the sun such as the face, the scalp.
The most common treatment methods for Radiant Hyperkeratoses are:
- cryocoagulation (usually with liquid nitrogen)
- laser cauterization
- cauterization with diathermocoagulation
- photodynamic therapy (PDT)
- the local application of pharmaceutical preparation
